Understanding the Benchamrking Test can significantly enhance your exam preparation. Let’s dive into the details to make the most of it.

What is a Benchmarking Test?

A Benchmarking Test is designed to evaluate your preparedness for a specific chapter or topic. It is a timed test that replicates the exam conditions, allowing you to measure your knowledge and performance against a standard.

Depending on how well you do on the benchmarking test, you get one of the four titles

  • Learner          <80%

  • Capable          80 to 95 %

  • Advanced       95 to 99 %

  • Ninja              99+ %

Once you reach a Capable level on a topic, it means you are ready to move to the next topic. What every learner needs to reach CAPABLE might be different. Some might need to solve everything from Pre-Class Quiz to Practice Exercises, while others can directly solve the Benchmarking Test. All that matters is your level on the Benchmarking Test, not how you reach it.

How to access the Benchmarking Tests?

The Benchmarking Tests are available in each module of "Prepare" tab under each topic as shown in the screenshot below:

When is it Recommended to Take the Benchmarking Test?

At IMS, we follow a structured learning approach to help you succeed. It is highly recommended to attempt the Benchmarking Test after completing the class exercises and practice exercises ( access to practice exercise depends on program eligibility) for the corresponding chapter. This ensures a solid understanding of the concepts and prepares you to assess your readiness in a structured manner.

However, if you already feel confident in your conceptual understanding and believe additional exercises are unnecessary, you can directly take the Benchmarking Test to evaluate your preparedness.

This approach allows flexibility while maintaining a focus on thorough preparation.

How Can the Benchmarking Test Help You Prepare for the Exam?

The Benchmarking Test provides you with:

  1. A Clear Benchmark: It highlights your level of preparedness for a particular chapter, helping you identify areas of strength and improvement.

  2. Exam-Like Practice: Being a timed test, it familiarizes you with time management, an essential skill for exam success.

  3. Focused Revision: The insights gained from the test results allow you to focus on weak areas, making your preparation more targeted and effective.

By regularly taking these tests, you can track your progress and ensure you are on the right path to achieving your exam goals.
